Yahoo! My Web 2.0 — Flog those buzzwords

I just noticed Yahoo!’s My Web 2.0 service. Is this the second version of ‘My Web’, or is it just blatant buzzword exploitation as I suspect? Oh, there are tags, contacts, sharing… I think it’s the latter. Is this a genius stroke of marketing on Yahoo!’s behalf or just a cheap shot at capitalising on the latest web buzzword?

  1. My Web 2.0? Whatever happened to My Web 1.0? I must have missed it.

Buzzword? marketing? I don’t think so.

I think they are ripping off the name of Garbage’s second album.

Sorry, have I brought down the tone of your blog. That’ll teach you for syndicating!

  2. Nonsense, if I wanted to lower the tone of this blog I’d approve those spam comments.

I wonder if this My Web service is using an del.icio.us code? Yahoo! recently bought it, yet it doesn’t really appear to be utilising it, although I really can’t see what’s happening behind the scenes.

  3. I dunno, I can’t even be bothered trying it out.

The last thing I want on my browser is a Yahoo! toolbar.

There is only one place that an exclamation mark belongs and that is at the end of the title of a broadway show.
